How does URL shortening work?

URL shortening converts long, complex URLs into short, easy-to-share links. For example:

Original: https://example.com/products/category/item?ref=12345&utm_source=social

Shortened: 7lnk.com/abc123

How it works:

Paste your long URL into the link creator
We generate a unique short code (or you can customize it)
When someone clicks your short link, they're redirected to the original URL
We track every click and provide detailed analytics
Can I customize my short links?

Absolutely! 7lnk offers several customization options:

  • Custom Alias: Instead of 7lnk.com/x8k2m, use 7lnk.com/my-promo
  • Custom Domain (Enterprise): Use your own domain like links.yourbrand.com/sale

Alias rules:

  • 3-50 characters long
  • Letters, numbers, and hyphens only
  • Must be unique (not already taken)
  • Case-insensitive (MyLink = mylink)
💡 Pro Tip: Use descriptive aliases for better click-through rates. "summer-sale-2024" is more trustworthy than "x8k2m".

When you enable password protection:

  • Visitors see a password entry page before being redirected
  • You set the password when creating/editing the link
  • Failed password attempts are logged for security
  • You can change or remove the password anytime

Can I set an expiration date for links?

Yes! Link expiration is available on Pro and Enterprise plans.

You can set links to expire:

  • After a specific date/time: Perfect for limited-time offers

  • Both: Whichever comes first

When a link expires, visitors see a customizable "Link Expired" message. You can also redirect them to a different URL after expiration.

How do QR codes work?

Every shortened link automatically gets a QR code! QR codes are scannable images that redirect to your link when scanned with a smartphone camera.

QR Code Features:

  • Automatically generated for every link
  • Download in PNG, SVG, or PDF format
  • Customize colors to match your brand (Pro/Enterprise)
  • Add your logo to the center (Enterprise)

What is a Bio Link page?

A Bio Link (or Link-in-Bio) is a customizable landing page that contains multiple links. It's perfect for social media profiles where you can only include one link (like Instagram or TikTok).

What you can add to your Bio Link:

  • Your profile photo and bio text

Do my links ever expire or get deleted?

No! All links created on 7lnk are permanent by default. They will continue working indefinitely, even if you:

  • Downgrade to a free plan
  • Don't log in for a long time
  • Reach your plan's link limit (existing links still work)
⚠️ Exception: Links are only deleted if you manually delete them, or if your account is terminated for Terms of Service violations.

We believe your links are important assets, and we're committed to keeping them working.

Can I edit a link after creating it?

Yes! You can edit most aspects of your links at any time:

  • Destination URL: Change where the link redirects
  • Title and description: Update for better organization
  • Password: Add, change, or remove protection
  • Expiration: Modify or remove expiry settings
  • Tags: Reorganize your links
Note: The short code (alias) cannot be changed after creation. If you need a different alias, create a new link.

How do I create a bookmark collection?

Creating a bookmark collection is simple:

Go to Dashboard → Bookmarks
Click "Create Collection"
Enter a name and optional description
Choose a template style (Modern, Minimal, Cards, etc.)
Select a theme color
Set visibility (Public, Private, or Password Protected)
Start adding bookmarks!
What templates are available for bookmark pages?

We offer 6 beautiful templates to display your bookmarks:

Yes! Each bookmark collection has three visibility options:

  • Private: Only you can see (requires login)
  • Password Protected: Viewers must enter a password

You can change visibility at any time from the collection settings.

How do I import bookmarks from my browser?

You can import bookmarks from Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge:

Export bookmarks from your browser as HTML file
In 7lnk, go to Bookmarks → Import
Upload your HTML file
Select which bookmarks to import
Choose destination collection

Is my CV public by default?

No! You control your CV's visibility:

  • Public: Anyone with the link can view
  • Private: Only you can see (draft mode)

You can also temporarily disable your CV without deleting it.

Can I use my own domain for my CV?

Yes! With custom domains (Enterprise), you can use:

This creates a more professional impression and is easier to remember than a generic link.

All transactions are processed securely. We never store your full card details.

Can I switch plans anytime?

Yes! You have full flexibility:

Upgrading:

  • Takes effect immediately
  • You're charged the prorated difference
  • New features available instantly

Downgrading:

  • Takes effect at end of current billing period
  • Keep using current plan features until then
  • No prorated refund (you've already paid for current period)
Do you offer refunds?

Yes! We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for all paid plans.

If you're not satisfied within 7 days of your initial purchase:

  • Contact our support team
  • Tell us why (helps us improve!)
  • Receive a full refund, no questions asked
Note: Refunds after 7 days are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Cryptocurrency payments are generally non-refundable due to blockchain transaction fees.
What happens when my plan expires?

When your paid plan expires and isn't renewed:

  • Your links keep working: All existing links remain active
  • Data is preserved: Nothing is deleted
  • Account reverts to Free: You're limited to Free plan features
  • Can't create new items: If over Free limits, can't add more until upgrade
  • Advanced features pause: Password protection, analytics, etc. paused

You can renew anytime to restore full access!

How does cryptocurrency payment work?

Paying with crypto is simple:

Select your plan and choose cryptocurrency at checkout
Select your preferred crypto (BTC, ETH, USDT, etc.)
Copy the wallet address and exact amount shown
Send payment from your wallet
Wait for blockchain confirmation (usually 10-30 minutes)
Your plan activates automatically!
💡 Tip: Send the exact amount shown. Sending less will delay activation until you send the remaining balance.
Do you offer discounts for annual billing?

Can I get an invoice for my payment?

How we protect your data

Is my data secure?

Absolutely! Security is our top priority:

  • Encryption: All data transmitted via SSL/TLS (HTTPS)
  • Password Security: Passwords hashed with bcrypt (never stored in plain text)
  • Data Storage: Encrypted at rest in secure data centers
  • Access Control: Strict internal access policies

  • Backups: Daily encrypted backups with disaster recovery
What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?

Two-Factor Authentication adds an extra layer of security to your account:

Enter your password (something you know)
Enter a code from your phone (something you have)

Even if someone steals your password, they can't access your account without the second factor.

  • Authy
  • Microsoft Authenticator

Enable 2FA in Dashboard → Security. Highly recommended!

What are recovery codes?

Recovery codes are backup codes generated when you enable 2FA:

  • 10 unique single-use codes
  • Use them if you lose access to your authenticator app
  • Each code can only be used once
  • Store them somewhere safe (not on your phone!)
⚠️ Important: If you lose both your authenticator app AND your recovery codes, you may be locked out of your account. Store recovery codes safely!
How do I report a security issue?

If you discover a security vulnerability:

  • Email us at [email protected]
  • Provide detailed description of the issue
  • Include steps to reproduce if possible
  • We'll respond within 24 hours

We appreciate responsible disclosure and may reward significant findings!

What data do you collect?

We collect data necessary to provide our services:

  • Account Info: Email, username, password (hashed)
  • Content: Links, bookmarks, forms, surveys you create
  • Analytics: Click data, visitor info (anonymized)
  • Usage: Features used, pages visited

We never:

  • Sell your data to third parties

Can I delete my account and data?

⚠️ Warning: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your links will stop working. Download a backup first!
